Ramatoulaye and Aissatou were third world strong, independent , smart and educated progressive women , they did not fall into the" Norm" as most western women like to believe . They were pioneers of the promtion of African women. In the diary of So Long A letter Ramatoulaye and Aissatou display courage in a society that heavily believed in their customs/tradition. The writer Marima BA takes us on journey unfolding their lives, the heartbreak and disappointment of their fail marriages. The relationship with friends, families.
