Should you need your short or partial works edited "yesterday," Lawrence Geddie, with 12-24 hours notice, will try to schedule your "live" online real-time edit session in which each page is worked through together with you (by e-mail or telephone call to Lawrence). Finished pages can be sent back to you instantly page-by-page for printing if desired. The page count for QuikEdit sessions is a minimum of 5 with a maximum of 25. This will normally run 1 to 3 hours depending on the number of pages. The Rates for this expedited personal service are double the Manuscript or Dissertation rate and are not normally scheduled for weekends. Once the fee is agreed, payments are prepaid online by credit card only. For immediate scheduling and/or fee report with no obligation, please attach your document and email to Inbox@EditAid.com.

The Rate for EditAid™ services, which must be pre-scheduled to allow ample editing time, is $3.00 per page for your first hundred pages of double-spaced manuscript or non-referenced prose and $1.00 per page for the balance of the work. To approximate your total fee, divide your total number of words by 250 (the average number of words per page for a double-spaced MS Word document). When your project fits neither the Manuscript nor Dissertation-Thesis service description below (eg., ghostwriting; screenplay or treatment development; press release; letter; resume; web copy et al.), then agreement is reached for a modified fee and payment schedule before editing commences. Returning EditAid clients will receive 20% off all fees for every other edit project (#2,4,6 etc.) requested within two years of their initial edit. Payment Terms for all services other than QuikEdit are one-half down and the balance due upon completion of the full edit. Your page count is based on MS WORD double-spaced page standards (approximately 250 words per page). Send document for cost assessment with no obligation, or divide your total number of words by 250 for approximate fee. Online Secure credit card payment or checks/money orders (U.S. banks) are accepted. Dissertations and Theses, which must meet strict guidelines, are corrected for English as well as "mechanics" (format and reference details) at the rate of $4.00 per page for the first hundred double-spaced pages and $2.00 per page for the balance of the work. No "rush" edits for long referenced works are offered. These are accepted 3-4 weeks or more prior to your deadline. However, individual sections of these works can be accepted on shorter notice. Referenced works are done using your precise Supervisor/Committee requirements. It is essential that the work be fully drafted prior to sending and in shape for an edit; keyboarding of copy beyond suggested or "clean copy" corrections is not offered. Prior to scheduling, please send Lawrence a copy or list of specific requirements or called-for changes as well as the total document to expedite cost estimate (as well as for determining format and citation validation). Technical Works such as Science, Medicine and Law are accepted for grammatical and "flow" editing, but Lawrence is not an expert in the jargon of these fields and recommends peer review prior to final submission of these works. Sample edited MS Word pages can be sent to you immediately upon request, or see complete options and details at EditAid's EDIT & POST-EDIT PROCESS. The minimum manuscript size accepted by e-mail or on disk/CD is twenty pages (other than for QuikEdit). Letters, resumes etc. are accepted under separate fee rates. Partial or incomplete drafts of your full work may be scheduled for editing if, for example, only portions of your work require critical word-for-word proofing, or if you are re-sending after rewriting part of a work. Writers of long fiction and non-fiction pieces may "stagger" the editing process by sending only a few draft chapters at a time. Word processing of typed or handwritten drafts is not offered. Authors should always send a copy only and retain the original. For writers of Fiction and Screenplays, your grammar and "voice" consistency issues will be questioned and changes suggested if needed, but never the thrust or content of your stories or chapters (eg., obviously deliberate misspellings in character dialogue etc. will be left as they are). For long fiction and screenplay manuscripts, it is helpful to the overall editing process if you send a one-page Synopsis. The turnaround time for editing is prompt, as you may be under time constraints. Once scheduled, you can expect a 200-page work, for example, to be completed within seven to ten days, then E-mailed (or Mailed in disk form) to you upon confirmed final payment. Submitted works will preferably be in MS WORD (.doc) format, though MS WORKS (.wps), Adobe ACROBAT (.pdf), RTF, HTM, and TXT documents are also accepted. If desired, your completed edit can be converted to any of these styles at no extra charge. Edits and temporary suggestions ("Comments") are optimally made with MS WORD (any version) drafted on double-spaced 12 pt. "Courier New" font pages. This is the preferred working format for most professional or student writers, but is not an absolute requirement. All potential clients are encouraged to obtain Word 97 or 2000 (or have access to it) in order to "finalize" their work after the edit in the quickest time. Lawrence will not change technically acceptable wording but may instead suggest more appropriate or consistent-with-style words or concise sentence structure. For this reason authors are highly encouraged not only to retain their original draft for comparison but to allow enough lead time (prior to publisher, Committee, or other deadline) to make a case-by-case "finalization" reading of their work for consideration of the suggestions made in Lawrence's completed polish. For "clean copy" edits (for rush projects only) word processor comparisons and drag-drop updates can be made using a "tiled" split-screen window and bringing up before-after documents side by side by reducing the viewing size of the two documents. Ticking Clock Edit: Should you wish to have an Express fix which you will have no time to closely compare to original when received, please point this out when first scheduling your edit, as in this case Lawrence makes essential grammar and style decisions and returns your work as a "clean" final draft (any questions will be e-mailed to you or placed in a separate e-mail attachment). There is no added charge for this option unless it is a "severe" rush. Having sufficient lead time to compare your original to Lawrence's polished draft is always preferable.
After being scheduled, your work may be sent either by E-mail attachment (350,000 kb or less per e-mail, please) to Inbox@EditAid.com , or by U.S. Mail or Fedex on diskette/CD to: EditAid
